I will be adding a lot of notes to this one, Don, in order to test out some mail notification code. Don;t be alarmed....

Hi Mark.
The only message I expected to see, but did not get, was a notification that
Mantis had received the bug I submitted. I could see it if I logged into
Mantis, but I expected to get mail saying I had submitted the bug and giving
me the bug sequence number. I'll leave it open for now. Have things changed
such that I need to close this bug and open a new one to see if I get the
expected notification?

The Mantis default is to not send mail to the user making the change, since that person knows they made the change. Mail will get sent to the Austin Review List of course to notify others.

You get your bug # right after you finished reporting it [a screen showing "Operation Successful - view Issue ##"] and then a redirect to the your View Issues page, in my case.

Currently, new submissions to the aardvark are sent to everyone on the
austin-review-l alias and discussion on aardvark reports is supposed to
be sent to everyone on the austin-group-l alias. Once mantis goes live,
will the same thing happen here (new bugs to the austin-review-l alias
and all updates to the austin-group-l alias), or will everything go to
a single new or existing alias?

Can the setting of alias (or aliases) vary depending on the project
(e.g., OGTGbase aliases for the XCurses project) or is there only one
alias per instantiation of mantis?

When mantis goes live, will I see two copies of all comments on bugs I
submit (one sent to me as the submitter, and one sent to one of the
Austin Group aliases)?

When mantis goes live (and I am actually sending an email out to our team on that point - take a look at http://austingroupbugs.net - all changes will have a notification email that goes to that goes like this:

Issue 6 New/Changes - austin-group-l
Issue 7 New/Changes - austin-group-l
Future Editions New/Changes - (TBD)
xcurses New/Changes - (TBD)

When you submit a new report or change a report, you will not get an email (you are presumed to know what you did, and a "success" screen appears right after you do it in the tool). The austin-group-l list will get an email telling everyone what you did.

I think we accepted your recommendations, for the most part.
